Indian Subcontinent Traveller Reviews - On The Go Tours

This is my 6th On the Go tour and i was not dissapointed with the itinerary or the guide (including support staff - especially our driver). As stated we were continually on the go and the guide very informative throughout. Traffic was a nightmare - but that was part of the culture / country we were in and part of the experience - it did detract though from having some valuable downtime which was a shame. The historical sites and knowlege of our guide made this tour and my walk up lion rock - whilst nearlly killing me was worth every effort. Feedback on the tour itinerary for me would be to drop the visits to the tea plantation, gem shop and spice garden. All these places were commercial in nature and I felt thise interested in such could obtain the same items whilst having free time in some of the beautiful towns we visited - particularly Kandy. I also think if Galle could be included on this itinerary it would round off a great cultural tour (we did a day trip to Galle during our stay in Bentota). Once again a credit to On the Go and I look forward to planning my 7th trip. - thanks Danny”

Hi Cherylyn,

Well, we just got back Sat. night from our fantastic trek. Everything about the trip went smoothly. On The Go in Nepal was fantastic. We had a really great guide and porter. The scenery was ever changing and on the high ridges we even had snow and saw yaks which was very rare. The lodges were basic but fine and I was constantly amazed how they could cook such delicious food in such tiny kitchens with only a wood stove.

I would say that if you are talking to future clients about this trip, I would inform them that it isn't easy and it is 90% steps straight up and down. Luckily we did a lot of training and were fine. Our guide said that, because of the steps, it is harder than Everest Base Camp except for the altitude. The Sherpa Society that ran our trek was very professional at all times. Also, I can highly recommend upgrading to the Yak and Yeti and Atithi hotel in Pokhara. Also, as the roads are a nightmare and the drivers even worse, I would really recommend a private car and driver. It was much safer and much quicker.

We are already thinking of our next trip--maybe trekking in Jordan. ”

From the first second we started booking this tour with On The Go Tours we really felt like your consultant, Sarah really wanted to make this a special trip for us. She put together everything we could've asked for the trip down to the finer details. Our tour guide was amazing and we had a very good time in India, our favourite part of the trip was the Elephanta Caves, but really every day felt so special to us because we customized the whole trip. Once we got home from the trip we did have a complaint about one part of the trip, we reached out to Sarah and she promptly refunded us for this part of the trip as it did not meet expectations. I cannot stress enough how amazing the customer service has been from On The Go Tours. ”
