Generally I enjoyed the tour very much. The itinerary was very full which was just what I wanted. I saw all the main things I wanted to see and most of the local guides were very informative. Most of the hotels were comfortable and we went to some very good restaurants. Satish was a lovely guide who looked after us all very well and was genuinely concerned that we should all enjoy our holiday.
A few small problems. I would have liked better information about the tour group before I travelled. I was told I was in a group of 8 which turned out to be 22 for the first week then 10 for the second week and the group was from 5 different countries. This is not a problem but I would have liked to know before I travelled.
The hotel standard was not consistent. Those in Jaipur and Udaipur were fantastic. the one in Jaiselmer was awful.
The guide at my highlight of the tour, The Taj Mahal was useless. None of us could understand what he was saying and the more this happened the more irritated he became so that Satish had to try and tactfully step in.
I would have liked a reminder email when the final payment of my holiday was due.
My only reservation is that as a single traveller I was fortunate with this group that everyone got on and stayed as a group. If that hadn't happened, most of the group were in coupes or with friends so I would have been on my own. ”
