Indian Subcontinent Traveller Reviews - On The Go Tours

We are in the middle of our Indian experience and every minute has been outstanding. Much of the excellence of this tour has been because of our guide, Yusuf, who leaves us today as the larger group splits into smaller ones and goes different directions. Yusuf has shown us many things throughout the journey and also offered suggestions, laughed at our jokes, and generally kept us in line. His knowledge of India seems endless and I have learnt so much more than I learnt from school of this amazing, vibrant country. Thank you Yusuf and On The Go. ”  

My husband and |I really enjoyed our entire tour-despite the change of itinerary because of the floods in Srinigar; in fact, the change of plan enabled us to go on the viceroy's toy train which turned out to be a highlight of the trip. We also went to the rock garden in Chandigarh-which we would not have managed if we had not had an extra night/day there. Our many and various guides were well-informed and helpful. Likewise our drivers were fine.

Constructive criticism: long car drives are tedious and if I could have changed that, I would have done so. I specifically requested a homestay in Leh and we were placed in a sub-standard "guesthouse" which we insisted on changing. Leh was perhaps our least favourite destination-we could and should have done more hiking there as I intended doing.Maybe Manali would have been a better choice? Shimla (the Clarke Oberoi) was our favourite stop. ”
