The complex is said to have been built between the 5th and 8th century C.E., and features shrines, courtyards and a main enclosure spread over 60,000 square feet. Operated: On Day 9 of 'Delhi to Mumbai' tour, and on Day 11 of 'Passage to India end in Mumbai' and 'Taj, Tigers and Mumbai' tours.
Entrance fees excluded, budget approx USD$20.
Video cameras are not permitted inside the caves and are subject to a fee.
Please note: The Elephanta caves are closed on Mondays, and subject to weather conditions. Also closed during Monsoon from June till September, or during Naval exercises which can be conducted unannounced.
Tipping is not included and is an entirely personal gesture.
A minimum of 2 persons is required to operate this trip.
