Cambodia Travel Advice for South African Travellers

The safety of our travellers is paramount and we keep informed of current travel guidance on Cambodia. We recommend that you check the latest travel advice from the consular in South Africa when planning your trip.

Flying to Cambodia from South Africa:

Cambodia is roughly a 18-22 hour flight from South Africa with the capital city of Phnom Penh and Siem Reap serving as the main international gateways. There are no direct flights from South Africa to Cambodia and the majority of airlines will make two stops en route. If flying from either Johannesburg or Cape Town to Phnom Penh the quickest routes are offered by South African Airways via Singapore or Qatar Airways via Doha with only one stop en route. A number of our Cambodia tours combine with neighbouring Vietnam and will start in either Hanoi or Saigon and end in Siem Reap. For such a route you can book what's known as an open jaw ticket, flying into one city and departing from another and for this Singapore Airlines via Singapore is a great option. Check out Travelstart for flight deals from South Africa to Cambodia or contact your local flight specialist.
