Nepal Travel Advice for South African Travellers
Nepal is roughly a 15-20 hour flight from South Africa with the capital city of Kathmandu serving as the main international gateway. There are no direct flights from South Africa to Nepal and the majority of airlines will make at least one stop en route. If flying from Johannesburg to Kathmandu the quickest routes are offered by the Middle Eastern airlines including Emirates via Dubai and Qatar Airways via Doha with only one stop en route. Emirates is also the fastest option from Cape Town with the majority of other airlines making two stops en route including Etihad via Abu Dhabi.
